Feel free to browse our menu – Fletchers Farm Menu
Fletcher’s Farm Coffee Shop was created by Kay who wanted to leave her 9 to 5 job and set up a business in catering working from home on the farm. With the help of her husband Mark, they started with just 4 tables placed outside along the edge of the stream that runs through the farm and catered purely for people out for a walk, bike ride or horse ride that were passing through on a sunny day. What started out as a hobby has now become an integral part of the whole farming business.
After opening in 2008, we have now extended into our new, beautifully finished barn conversion which consists of a large indoor seating area, a decking-balcony and also a number of outside tables located by the stream. With panoramic views of the surrounding countryside you can relax and enjoy the sun in the summer, or by our log burning stove in the colder winter months. The more energetic can go for a walk round the nature trails on the farm, or venture further on the alternative walking routes to the Captain Cooks Monument and Roseberry Topping.
Sign posted from Great Ayton high street, there is ample free parking in our main carpark and our overflow carpark, as well as disabled parking right on the doorstep. The coffee shop is fully accessible for the disabled, with a wheelchair ramp and also disabled toilet facilites. We also provide secure parking for mountain bikes and bicycles, and dogs are most welcome both inside and outside the coffee shop. Horse riders are also catered for as your horses can be tethered up at the “OK Coral”.
What sets our coffee shop apart from others is that you will find yourself on a real working dairy farm. You get to enjoy your food whilst watching the cows venture in from the fields for milking time – a sight not to be missed. Children can get especially close to the cows on the maternity ward, as well as meet the calves, goats, pigs, sheep and other animals in the outdoor pens around the front of the coffee shop. However, please remember you make sure you use the antibacterial soap after petting any farm animals.
With wide open spaces and fields away from busy main roads families can relax and young children can burn off steam in our play area.
Our menu is a mixture of traditional farmhouse home baking coupled with modern daily specials found displayed on the boards. From a large range of sandwiches and toasties with all the trimmings to homemade Victoria sponges, carrot cake and our famous chocolate cake. Hot food is served all day and our popular Herdsman’s breakfast is a must or if you are really hungry then you need our Farmer’s breakfast.
Cream teas served with real whipped double cream and raspberry jam take some beating, washed down with proper Yorkshire tea or if you prefer a fresh ground coffee, latte or cappuccino. Mind you, hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream does come highly recommended.
Whatever you decide you can be guaranteed a very warm welcome, and although we are only a small run business and may not be the fastest food on the market we hope everything will be to your satisfaction and that you enjoy your time here at our coffee shop.
Finally, may we thank you for your custom as wereally do appreciate your support.
Hope to see you soon!
